Rakel Dögg Bragadottir is 24 years old handball player who is captain of the national team of Iceland, and who represents Levanger in the Norwegian leauge.
Rakel had problems to control the rotators of the scapula (serratus) that led to impingement syndrome in the rotator cuff muscles (infraspinatus). She had been in treatment for 6 months before she got the possibility to work with Kine. KineLive made the difference for here, since she could now find the origin of the problem, and train the weak link specifically.
How did you get introduced to Kine systems ? I got to know Kine through my physical therapist in Iceland.
What kind of injury were you facing? I had gone trough an operation of the shoulder, but still had problems and my rehab was not turning out as we expected.
Did the Kine sensors inhibit your movements in any way? Not at all, I could do every movement without problems, even shoot at goal.
How do you think working with Kine helped you on your way to recovery? First of all, the therapist found the problem when he analyzed me with the system, it was one muscle that I did not activate properly previously. Then, when I used the biofeedback system during rehabilitation, I could first learn how to activate that particular muscle. I was also able to figure out how to work with my muscles in the specific exercises in order to improve. It was clearer to me afterwards what the problem was and how to work against it.
How long did you work with KineLive? I only had time for three sessions in Iceland since I was located in Denmark at the time, but I was able to learn specific exercises in that time and I kept on doing them when I came home.
I also used the time to work with my national team physical therapist who had the system when I came to Iceland for vacation or to meet the national team.
How are you today? I am fully participating with my team Levanger in Norway and the National team as well, we have just made it to the European Cup!

Kine is working closely with scientist all over the world and at the 3’ed internationalconference on Movement Dysfunction in Edinborg from 30.okt. to 1.nov. At this conference the scientist Harpa Helgadottir will present her research on relation between impairments in the neck and shoulder dysfunction.
Kine representative will be there to introduce you with the great benefits of wireless EMG and EMG biofeedback. (see Meet Us)
The Kine electromyography (EMG) is what gives me a leading position in the world Ingi Thor Einarsson is a teacher and PhD student at Center for Research in Sport and Health Science at the University of Iceland. He uses KinePro a lot for his research of swimmers.
“The Kine electromyography (EMG) is what gives me a leading position in the world amongst researchers doing similar things. Measuring EMG in water is not easy, but it is now possible with the equipment from Kine” says Mr. Einarsson that is currently measuring athletic swimmers, both able-bodied and invalid. His aim is to describe motion patterns of various disabilities in swimming and by utilising EMG find the reason for why e.g. blind and mentaly retarded swim slower than able-body, in spite of same training.
Scientists in Sportmedicine all over Europe appreciate the KINE technology for research and clinical application.
"The patients love to get the immediate feedback on their performance and get really motivated. It is just cool to work with the biofeedback” is the reply from physical therapists.
Oscar Pistorius' reputation as the "fastest thing on no legs" is gaining momentum with every race. Kine assists Össur in the development of Oscars feet.
Kine exhibited at the national physiotherapy conference in Sweden. Our visitors showed a genuine interest in our dynamic EMG biofeedback and saw KineLives potential in functional training and ergonomy.
Who won the KineJump competition?
We at KINE are happy for great attention and fruitful discussions at the BIOMECHANICS OF THE LOWER LIMB IN HEALTH, DISEASE AND REHABILITATION hold at the University of Salford 3 - 5 September. It is obvious that our small, completely wireless EMG measuring units has many applications in research and rehabilitation of the lower limb.
After a very good response at the joint ISCoS/NoSCoS conference 27th of June to 1st of July we want to thank all of you that visited us and at the same time congratulate the winners a 2ch wireless EMG system and KineView.
KineLive, our completely wireless EMG-biofeedback, gives functional training and motor control therapy a new dimension. You can test your patients in real live situations like reaching, throwing, walking, jumping or sprinting. Thanks to the freedom you get with the wireless biofeedback, there are no limits on what movements you can do.
Kine has improved the run-time of the wireless EMG units be replacing the NiMH batteries with Lithium-Ion cells. The new battery lasts for up to 8 hours between full charging, with normal use.
Kine’s advantage of being quick to apply has become even more evident when you can now record data synchronously with other system that also requires preparation time.
A team from Kine visited South Korea in April.
Kine signed a new distribution contract with the company Hospi in Seoul and welcomes the presence in the area.
The competition is closed – Winner will be published 15.11.05
The competition is now closed and Kine will draw three winners on Tuesday morning the 15th of November! Kine has outsourced the draw to independent organisation outside of Iceland.

XVIIth Conference of International Society for Posture and Gait Research May 29th - June 2nd Kine has presented its products at this bi-annual international convention for posture and gait research. The ISPGR Meeting enjoys an increasing popularity with more than 400 visitors in Marseille this year a significant increase over the last meeting 2 years ago.
Completely wireless EMG
KinePro is the ultimate in EMG technology. The intelligent surface EMG units are the most advanced on the market today. They are fast and easy to attach, no belts or any other artifacts are necessary.
Our new concept of completely wireless EMG enables the subject to have total freedom of movement.
Hence Kine Pro facilitates easy and fast collection yielding highest quality of data.
Key Benefits: 1. Swift set-up of system saves ample time
2. Surface EMG units offer easy placement
3. Natural movement without constraints
4. Total flexibility for measurements
a. Indoor
b. Outdoors
c. Sports
5. Easy collection and export of high quality data
Kine is in full gear to develop its international distribution network. Melchior Lippisch, as Marketing Consultant has been contracted to identify and contract distribution partners in the major European countries for Kine’s innovative product-line.
